Is this really Tuesday? Seems like Wednesday. Guess that's what happens when you work from home..every day starts to look the same. Had dinner with a friend whom I've met since I've been here in Austin. I met her randomly one day while having lunch at a local Mexican restaurant. She's a wonderful person...bright, beautiful, articulate and fun. I feel very fortunate to have met her. We had a great conversation, as we usually do. From the moment we sit down together, it's full on talk! Never a dull moment. And, we don't try to solve the world's problems...just ours. Well, ours and the men that should be dating us. But, oh well, their loss!
She and I are both are "larger" women. She...not so much, but she feels it all the same. Anyway, we've come to the conclusion that all women of all shapes, sizes, colors and creeds have pretty much the same issues when it comes to dating and relationships. It really doesn't matter what you look like, you can be in a really crappy relationship, or, you can be in a really great one. As we all know, the really great ones are few and far between.
I think Hollywood is proof positive. Look at all those beautiful, thin, rich people who appear to have it all. How many of them are actually happy? Satisfied? Fulfilled? Many more are addicts of one kind of another, looking for the same thing that the rest of us are looking for. Happiness. And just like us, using something else to take its place until it comes whether it be alcohol, drugs, sex, food, etc.
I think sometimes we need to stop looking, stop running around trying to create our happiness and just sit quietly and wait. It will come when you least expect it. Just quit trying so hard.
